Well I’m feeling much better now. Have been out a couple times on my girlfriends F235 sailing with her and we had good time. It’s a sweet boat and my girlfriend is becoming a good sailer 🙂
Jim never did get Webejamming back from southport so he called me last week and we went up this past sunday to pick her up and sail her back down to little river. What a blast…
The motor is dead so we had to sail out of the dock and into the dock at the marinas going and coming. 🙂 it was impressive 🙂 we did it very very smooth….
I’ve been sick for the last 10 days.. I’m better than I was but
still tired and weak. This has been really annoying and kinda scary.
Annoying because none of the work on my boat has gotten done. Shoot I
haven’t gotten any work done on anything in my life, everything is
behind. The scary part has been that I’ve never been sick like this
before. I’ve had flu and colds before but not a chest infection where
your chest starts hurting… bad!!! and you start to have trouble
breathing because of the pain… I’m normally very doctor resistant but
I ended up going to the doctor last tuesday and getting chest xrays and
antibiotics….. the worst of it started getting better fairly soon
after that but ive still had a week of coughing, sinuses and fever up
to 103. Not fun at all.
2nd day racing on LC Marie.. We won today also… 🙂 good day sailing… started out with no wind but then it slowly picked up and we had a nice race.

Well I finally got the keel cable fixed on “Goes Around Comes
Around” my Santana 21. It was a bugger! Very stupid design. You have to
take the keel off the boat toput a new cable on. you could put a
new one on if the old one was still there I guess but mine snapped
about 8 inches from where it attaches to the swing part of the keel.
The keel is cast iron and weighs in at 550 lbs so it isn’t
something that you just throw around. I took the boat to the Prop Shop
over in Little River and with the help of Richard and (Larry the owner)
we put it on the boat lift and lifted the boat off of the keel. Leaving
the keel on the trailer so we could then move it from under the boat to
work on it. In the below picture you can see it after we pulled the
trailer out from uder the boat and she is hanging in air before we put
supports under her.
Comes around, Goes Around got cleaned to within an inch of her life
today. I pressure washed her off outside and inside. Scrubbed all i
could easily reach of her inside with soapy clorox water then hit her
with the pressure washer inside to rinse. Used the bilge pump to pump
water out. and then sopped up the rest of the water with some towels.
Left hatches open for two days and she dried out nice. One of the nice
things about a boat with very little wood on her. I also took
everything off the boat before cleaning. there was a lot of little
stuff that had migrated to her. 🙂

Well I have started working on Goes Around, Comes Around my Shock Santana 21.
- Put new jack on front of her trailer today. The key in the
old ones gears sheared and it was easier to just replace whole thing. I
got one that is twice as strong as the old one also. It was kinda
wobbly.
- Pulled her out into yard and put mast up so that it
is easier to inspect everything and to access the cabin and cockpit to
work on her.
- Took a look at the swing keel cable. She will
need to be in the water for me to reach it to replace the broken one. I
have to work out some method of keeping the keel up while i put her in
water and then lowering it without just dropping it all at once.
- Need to install the solar panel I got last yea
- would like to get a couple big AGM batteries and a trolling motor to power her
- I have a two battery switch to install
- Interior of boat needs cleaning
- Sails need cleaning
- All rigging needs to be inspected
- Need to pressure wash the hull and decks.
- set out all gear and figure out stowage areas for it all.
- Install gear hammock
- make new door for under sink and install that
- finsh fixing table and re-install that.
- Build v-berth extension over center walkway. Storage under it,,, maybe put portapottie under it?
- Need to find leak in deck window seal or around companionway that water gets in when it rains
- Need to overhaul the drop boards in door. maybe make out of plexi-glass
