I ran some tethers and misc stuff up while dog sitting for patty this weekend. The tethers came out really nice.
The only one I have pictures of is the cutlery holder. 🙂 It’s already making difference in keeping all the little and bigger utensiles organized and out of the way.
I also worked on remounting the radio on sea puppy. It was just bolted to the side of the chart table area. I have now flush mounted it. I is a much cleaner and out of the way install.
First I drilled a hole to get the key hole saw I used into.. Actaully I drilled out all four corners.
Next the cut out hole
Radio installed
I also did a bit of cleaning on sea puppy this weekend. She has been out sailing all summer and this fall with not a lot more in the way of cleaning inside other than just neatening stuff up. I actaully pulled the floor boards out and scrubbed the floor pan and hull with soft scrub. It was amazing how much grime came up. You wouldn’t have thought it could have gotten that dirty in the first place.
Just curious, but what is the deck plate there for??? VHF install looks good though. Is it a DSC-capable unit, and did you hook it into the GPS?
The deck plate is just to access the dead space behind that bulkhead. Almost all the wireing in the boat passes behind there. It is a little bit of a eye sore but it has made doing a lot of the instalations such as the gps, autopilot, radio, accessorie power etc. much easier and less obtrusive because I could access back there to run the wires.
It isn’t a dsc capable unit 🙁 I’m not going to complain however as it was a gift from a friend and wouldn’t have this if he had’tnt given it to me. I put off doing the flush mount install till I found the radio I was going to get that would have dsc and wham mike capabilitiesss. I wanted to make sure I didn’t cut a hole that would be bigger than what the new unit could use. I’m looking at a uniden vhf with dsc, wham, hailer etc.. capabilities.
I have bought a dsc radio.. uniden 525bk and have mounted it but not yet finished hooking up the gps, hailer, wham4 etc….
I just hooked the antena to it and the power and did a radio check.. clear as bell to someone 15 or 20 miles away 🙂
