Sunday morning I halfway had decided to head in but got a call from Patty and Jeff and ended up following them out. I was still weighing anchor when they got out on the ocean but after a long light wind chase caught up to them a few miles out. 🙂 its really cool when I can catch a Beneteau 323 🙂
Before leaving I took a few pictures of My Annie while some pelicans flew by
A couple pictures of Sea Puppy from the bow while I was chasing down Pirate Girl 🙂
Pirate Girl looking good today
After many hours of fun sailing it was time to head back in. 🙂 I was planning on heading home after getting back to the marina but Jerry on LC Marie got a line sucked into his prop that left him dead in the water. I was taking a nap when he called me. At that point he was drifting and worried about going aground. I quickly grabbed my dock lines to make a tow line out of and zipped out of the marina. He was only a mile and a half down the waterway and close to being aground but a little gust of wind had come up and he was slowly easing back out into the channel. At this point tow boat US was just a couple minutes away and I just hovered to make sure he didn’t drift back toward the shore.
When Tow Boat US got there I hung out till they got him under tow.
And then I hauled ass back to the marina to help them bring him into the dock. Everything went very smooth. 🙂 though poor jerry still has a line wrapped around the prop. A nice 3/4 inch 3 strand nylon dock line.. ouch!! It was dark by the time we finished getting him arranged in his slip and took a first look at the line so we called it a night. I got back in sea puppy that I had tied up the next dock over and headed back to my slip at the other end of the marina. 🙂 then got waylaid by Jay on walkabout who was grilling hamburgers, so I tied up in the empty slip next to Jay and had a hamburger 🙂 lol by 9:30 or 10 i was exhausted.. I just barely had the energy to get Sea Puppy back in her slip and fall asleep on her.
